INOC, LLC recently announced the completion of a temporary Network Operations Center (NOC) for theRadiological Society of North America (RSNA®) 2013 Annual Meeting. The conference, taking place December 1-6 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL, is regarded as the world’s largest annual event in medical imaging.
Located in the convention center, the NOC provides 100% uptime and critical availability for the RSNA network (RSNAnet) throughout the duration of the event. It is backed by INOC’s primary and Disaster Recovery NOCs in Madison, WI and Chicago, IL, enabling INOC’s experienced engineers to monitor and manage RSNAnet 24×7. The network delivers premium Ethernet services using a flexible Juniper virtual switching fabric along with equipment from Extreme, Fortinet, and Blue Coat. A virtual server infrastructure using VMware is used to run DNS, DHCP and a variety of additional monitoring tools, including NetFlow and sFlow, to support remote and on-site incident response teams.
According to RSNA Assistant Executive Director Steve Drew, securing the highest level of network uptime was critical to the success of the annual event. With the support of INOC, RSNAnet provides 700 exhibitors and over 55,000 attendees the ability to seamlessly access meeting programs and exhibit and session information, surf the Internet and efficiently exchange bandwidth-intensive radiological images.
Leveraging state-of-the-art software and technology, INOC’s team of experienced support professionals proactively monitors, detects and measures service availability and network performance in real-time – 24×7. INOC customers benefit from significant reductions in downtime, speedy resolution of network issues around-the-clock, increased staff productivity and enhanced end-user satisfaction.
